What is a Funeral Order of Service?

A funeral order of service is a printed booklet given out to people attending a funeral. Its purpose is to enable everyone to follow the service, which is normally led by a vicar or funeral celebrant.

It is a useful point of reference to help those in attendance follow the running order of the funeral service. It may also include the wording of any hymns / prayers / songs that you'd like everyone to join in with.

The order of service booklet is also the perfect place to include the wording of a special poem or reading, along with photos of your loved one.

Finally, printed funeral orders of service act as a memorable keepsake that can be sent on to those who cannot make the day of the funeral. People will often put them up in their home following the service, to hold the memories of their loved ones near.

Funeral order of service booklets may be ordered with 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 pages. Funeral booklets are A5 in size.

4 Pages - This is a single piece of A4 card folded in half to create 4 sides or pages consisting of front and back cover plus 2 inside pages.

6 Pages - This is a single piece of A4 card folded in half to create 2 sides consisting of front and back cover, plus 4 inside pages provided by stapling in an A4 paper insert folded in half to create 4 pages.

8 Pages - This is a single piece of A4 card folded in half to create 4 sides consisting of front and back cover and 2 inside pages, plus 4 inside pages provided by stapling in an A4 paper insert folded in half to create 4 pages.

10 Pages - This is a single piece of A4 card folded in half to create 2 sides consisting of front and back cover, plus 8 inside pages provided by stapling in two A4 paper inserts folded in half to create 8 pages.

12 Pages - This is a single piece of A4 card folded in half to create 2 sides consisting of front and back cover and 2 inside pages, plus 8 inside pages provided by stapling in two A4 paper inserts folded in half to create 8 pages.
